Fuel Gauge
       
       

When the car was purchased the fuel gauge was not working. The usual fault for this type
of fuel gauge is that the float sensor malfunctions, or the wire between the float and the
gauge becomes broken. To test this the simplest option is to disconnect the wire at the float
unit and short it to the body work. Unfortunately the gauge still didn't move so indicated
a fault with the gauge itself. Thanks to Dennis from the Swindon A30 owners club who donated
a spare that he had at the back of his garage. As can be seen from the picture below, it's all working well.
